Provider's Policy

This treatment center in Tucson specializes in treating patients through a 30-day intensive outpatient program. They offer programs for individuals who struggle with severe anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders. Their philosophy of treatment blends Eastern philosophy with evidence-based therapies like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), eye movement therapy (EMDR) and their own innovative Inner Twin Therapy.

Who Is It For?

The programs are for those who experience high levels of anxiety, depression or are battling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). For those who are struggling with substance use disorders or have a history of chronic relapse, this program is intended for those who lack financial resources for inpatient or cannot leave family for extended periods of time. The sessions vary between group and individual therapy. After completing the 12 sessions at IOP, clients go on to participate in Zen’s aftercare program, which includes 2 sessions per month. Clients can opt to participate in deep transcranial magnetic stimulation (dTMS), which can help to alleviate depressive symptoms in many clients.

Eastern Philosophy in Treatment

Zen’s approach to treatment is that the root cause of suffering is negative thoughts, which come from the ego. At Zen, clients learn to connect to and operate from their authentic self, rather than their ego. They learn coping skills like meditation and mindfulness, coping skills for cravings and negative thoughts, and how to express and set boundaries.
