About WhiteSands Hyde Park

WhiteSands Treatment has multiple residential and outpatient recovery centers located throughout Florida for those seeking treatment for addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. Their Hyde Park location is a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP) designed for women who are transitioning to a lower level of care or for those who may need a more intensive level of care but are unable to go into residential treatment. Their PHP is a highly-structured day program consisting of 5 hours of recovery related activities per day, 6 days per week, participating in various group or individual therapies promoting skill-building and community connection. The spacious renovated Victorian Home provides the option for women in their partial hospitalization program (PHP) to reside in their facility as part of their transitional housing, offering private rooms and luxury amenities. The intensive outpatient program (IOP), is a step down from PHP, requiring less time and commitment with 3 hours of treatment per day, 3 days a week. Their IOP is group structured and focuses on relapse prevention, coping mechanisms, and fostering healthy life-skills to achieve long-term sobriety.

Recovery and Wellness Program

The recovery and wellness program at WhiteSands is a structured program providing long-term support focused on relapse prevention. At the beginning of the treatment process, each patient is assigned a personal life skills guide to assist them with their individual recovery plans and reaching their treatment goals. A life skills guide works with residents to develop the skills and life balance needed to maintain long-term sobriety, focusing on an individual's overall wellness. As patients transition through different levels of treatment, WhiteSands recovery and wellness programs address any concerns or barriers that may come up in the process. This includes allowing patients to continue seeing the same doctors and psychiatric providers once they return home if possible, avoiding having to start over with a new provider. If there will be a switch in treatment providers, patients are introduced to outpatient therapists by their inpatient provider, where relevant information and history is provided. Long-term relapse prevention plans are created, identifying areas and behaviors that may fall back into addictive patterns and addressing them before they happen. Access to a 24-hour hotline and virtual check-in and alumni meetings also provide ongoing support and structure.

Review from Rehabs.com

I went to this facility for three months for my alcohol addiction. It wasn’t the worst but it definitely wasn’t the best. Overall, an experience I’ll never forget. The best part was when the techs finally let their guard down and became sympathetic and relatable throughout the process and made us (myself and the other addicts) feel like a family away from home and instead of incarcerated. Overall, I wish they had a different lead therapist. Racine had good intentions but is definitely in the wrong field of work. I distinctly remember us seeing her walking up to the building for work and having a “I hate my job” apathetic demeanor. It was so apparent that none of us felt comfortable enough to be 100% vulnerable and transparent. In my opinion, a therapist should have strong interpersonal intelligence. I think if we had more of an approachable, positive, affable individual, it would have been a much better experience. I gave the “treatment effectiveness” five stars because it was still an eye-opening experience and 100% worth it even though I did not fully recover. I can proudly say today I am one year, four months and twenty five days sober and going strong. At the end of the day, no rehab, no therapist, no magic pill will get you sober. YOU have to want it and make that change for yourself and no one else.

DO NOT SEND YOUR DAUGHTER HERE! They do not care for their patients as their website states, if your daughter has a dual diagnosis - they will ship her to a local hospital- and then state they can't treat her and lie about contacting the hospital!! We are back where we started when we first brought her to Hyde Park!

This company hires techs without the appropriate credentials to deal with this population. Additionally, clients are treated like numbers rather than people at times (from the insurance side of things - some clients are promised they will stay longer then abruptly kicked out when their insurance runs out, for example). Therapists there are the only glue holding it together. They are wonderful and truly invested in their clients and the nutritionist is very knowledgeable and goes the extra mile for eating disorder clients.
