About Sunlight Sober Living
Sunlight Sober Living is located in the bustling city of Austin to help integrate residents into their community. When men decide to live at Sunlight, they are required to go through an intake process to help ensure they are a good fit. Upon joining the “family” at Sunlight, each individual must commit to remaining clean and sober, and they will participate in drug screening bi-weekly. They must also attend 4 therapy sessions, 12-Step meetings, church services or meditation sessions per week. Additionally, the residents are required to obtain a job within 30 days of living at Sunlight.
Recovery Community
Becoming involved in the Austin community is a top priority for all residents living at Sunlight. The city of Austin is filled to the brim with recovery centers, 12-Step meetings and places of worship, making it easier to maintain sobriety. Residents are also encouraged to immerse themselves in the city’s culture, rather than separate themselves from it. Austin has endless opportunities for live music, outdoor activities and good food that can be enjoyed in a new way for residents.
Advocacy Program
Navigating a new lifestyle does not come without its challenges, so Sunlight offers an advocacy program that is much like having a mentor. Each resident has different needs, so the amount of time spent with their advocate will vary. Each resident’s advocate is available for emergency calls and texts. They also help communicate the resident’s progress with their family, creating accountability.
