Treat the Whole Person, Not Just Symptoms

Each day at Josie’s Hope Center follows a schedule that balances clinical intensity with restorative wellness. Clients participate in up to six hours of group therapy daily focused on emotional regulation and personal accountability. Individual therapy sessions provide focused time to address trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and other underlying concerns. Psychiatric follow-up ensures medication regimens remain effective and adjusted as needed. Clients also participate in fitness and self-care sessions.

Relax in a Safe Community

Josie’s Hope Center is in a comfortable suburban home in Paradise Valley Village in northeast Phoenix. Clients stay in semi-private bedrooms with walk-in closets and flat screens with streaming services. Ample indoor living space and a large backyard give clients room to relax. Staff provide meals, and clients manage personal laundry. The group visits an off-site gym several times weekly while Josie’s completes its on-site gym.

Plan for Long-Term Resilience

Early in treatment, Josie’s Hope Center starts coordinating a structured aftercare plan with practical tools to maintain stability beyond residential treatment. Clients leave with outpatient referrals, psychiatric follow-up, community-based recovery meetings, and relapse prevention strategies. The alumni program also helps clients maintain connection, accountability, and community with others who have completed treatment there.

Learn to Handle Overwhelming Emotions
Learn to Handle Overwhelming Emotions
Emotional regulation is a primary focus at Josie’s Hope Center, since many individuals use substances to escape overwhelming emotions. Clients learn and practice new coping skills daily, including identifying triggers, tolerating distress, communicating effectively, and setting boundaries. Practicing these skills within the safety of the residential environment before returning home helps reduce relapse risk.
Treat Mental Health Conditions Underlying Addiction
Treat Mental Health Conditions Underlying Addiction
Addiction often develops as a way to cope with anxiety, trauma, depression, unresolved grief, or overwhelming life stress. Josie’s Hope Center addresses these underlying factors by integrating psychiatric care, behavioral therapy, and medication management for co-occurring mental health disorders. Stabilizing brain chemistry allows clients to participate more fully in therapeutic work.
Restore Both Physical & Emotional Health
Restore Both Physical & Emotional Health
Substance use and untreated mental health conditions often lead to physical depletion and emotional exhaustion. Recovery requires restoring both, so Josie’s Hope Center incorporates wellness practices and outings that rebuild physical and emotional health. Clients have access to regular gym sessions, movement-based therapy, mindfulness practices, IV hydration, and self-care appointments.
Involve Family for Recovery Success
Involve Family for Recovery Success
