About Hillcrest Transitional Housing
Hillcrest Transitional Housing offers 90 day transitional housing programs for adults and families facing homelessness throughout the greater Kansas City area. Locations include Independence, Lee's Summit, and Sugar Creek in Missouri and Overland Park and Kansas City in Kansas. The program is free for qualified individuals and includes life skills training, financial counseling, and case management in a supportive community environment. Clients are required to search for and engage in 35-40 hours of employment weekly to help them transition to independent living. Hillcrest Transitional Housing is drug and alcohol free.
Youth Transitional Housing
Hillcrest also offers an up to 24 month free transitional housing program for teens and young adults ages 16-24. Locations for this program include Independence, Missouri as well as Kansas City and Overland Park in Kansas. Clients work on budgeting, educational, employment, and personal (BEEP) goals during the program, engaging in life skills classes, case management, and part-time employment.
Rapid Re-Housing
Hillcrest further offers case management, financial assistance, and housing placement assistance for youth, adults, and families in Clay, Clinton, and Platte counties. Clients must be living in a car, the streets, an emergency shelter, or fleeing domestic violence to be eligible for this program.
