This center was completely free. I was first taught how to deal. By learning to deal alongside women like me I learned that I am not alone. The strength that was gained by sharing our experience strength and hope with each other everyday in class is imesurable. The challenges of this facility include (as you can imagine in a group of 45+ women on one property) elevated tempers which will be corrected, gossip which will have to come to a stop, lies which will have to be exposed. You have to work an honest program otherwise you are wasting time. If you are caught with a cell phone you will be dismissed from the property. If you don't want recovery then don't bother taking a bed. Some people have even brought drugs to the facility, they were escorted to jail with new charges as well. If you are going to join women's services be respectful of each person's recovery. Each woman has a family to recover for and if you cannot put aside your differences and care for someone else then you shouldn't enter Advantage Women's Services. Be WILLING to lay down the bad attitudes and hatred before you join W.S. and you WILL GO FAR. You do your OWN thing, you can communicate so easily with DFCS if you have a case your worker will comply with all of your needs and meet you on property. You will have safety from any and all abusers, these women will protect you from all harm at all times. They have to be strict at times because we all come from dangerous environments, and we ourselves are coming from very distorted perceptions back into reality. You have to be open minded and just accept that you are probably wrong when you think you are right. Lol. Addiction is a really good lier and we all believed that stuff long enough!! You will have no shame and no guilt here, you will be encouraged to love yourself. In turn you will love each other dearly for the struggle is so real. The staff will give you a number of creative activities. FIELD TRIPS each week to places such as parks in town, hiking trails, the art museums, historic sites, library where you check out up to 15dvds and watch on your free time which include many popular TV shows btw.) This facility will have you go to class from 8am to 3pm every weekday. Your weekends are YOUR thing where you live amongst yourselves. You can visit each other's apartments during the hours each day that are allowed. Many women cook, do arts and crafts, do hair and makeup, pray and meditate, and exorcise in this free time. After a time period of three month you are required to get a job and there you will be expected to start saving money and applying for your own housing in town. If you have an open DFCS case you will qualify for an additional six months to stay with them AFTER your first six month graduation -this opportunity is called "transition housing" I was able to stay here for one year, save $3,500 (while at the same time spending money on myself and my family as I wanted, when I wanted while saving) I learned to manage money priorities and save! I was then able to buy a car for myself and pay a deposit and first months rent and GET ON MY OWN feet for the FIRST time in my life. I am a brand new woman who is STRONG, ALIVE, and FREE to be ME! I have an amazing support system thanks to the work that Advantage W.S. did in my life. Everything I have is from what they taught me. At times I thought they were wrong but I was willing to lay down my need to be right and ACCEPT the HELP that was given to me and then they were really able to help me change my mind and change my life. They have a lot of respect for an honest effort. Please do this today if you are in need, this can be YOUR ADVANTAGE.

Women Services helped me save my life. The counselors and staff were all very caring and efficient. You share an apartment with another client. My daughter was able to live there with me. It's a strict program because they focus on not only treating addiction but on teaching the current how to live life again. They taught me structure, which I desperately needed after 20 years in active addiction. They also introduced me to 12step program and tools that I have been able to use to live in long term recovery.

I graduated in 2010 from this program. Just like with anywhere else in the world there were things I didn't like but as far as for recovery YES this place helped me very much. I was able to have my children there with me I had an apartment i shared with one other female. I am not sure how things are now but I do know the same counselors are there because I still talk to them. Some of the staff members are a little rude but if you follow the rules and do what you are supposed to do then you don't have to deal with that as much. This place changed my life, i hope this helps.

The counselors are caring and understanding. They needed a different location . And some of the staff is rude and also need more training. They need more ways of adding more things to do with there program. You will share a room with another lady. They have on site child care. There were options to go to church just down the road and you also can go to the AA meetings down the road as well. They take you as a group to other meetings and also to the grocery store.
