Review from Rehabs.com

I was a in an active drug and alcohol addiction when I thought it was better to die an addict instead of getting help. It was a time. I to this day will never forget. I found out about roxbury the way most addicts find out about rehabilitation centers ....i hit my bottom! I took the suggestions of the staff at Roxbury and put my trust in someone else....the result of the tools I was given at Roxbury is very clear to me...as of 12/31/2022 I have been sober since 1987...and I owe it all to Roxbury for there understanding of my disease.i am a truly grateful man today.

Review from Rehabs.com

I must say this is the only treatment facility I have ever been to. I have no comparison to other facilities. I spent 12 days at Roxbury. The staff was 90% wonderful. The facility was 84% clean. The rules were very restrictive, but they had to be. We had mental health situations that could have become dangerous with less restrictive rules for EVERYONE there. We had addicts who were detoxing and going through withdrawal and medication sickness and severe mood swings as well as mental illnesses who needed to get on a Monitored medicine regime. I understand why the rules were so severe and agree it was the best and safest way to deal with a mixed bag population, to treat them all as potentially dangerous to themselves and/or others. Good call. The food was actually pretty good and plentiful. Most people going there are malnourished and they gave every opportunity to feed up very nicely. The psychiatrists were very experienced and could read the patients clearly and not rely on what the patients told them. They couldn’t be deceived easily and were experienced enough to see the core of the matter. I needed to get antidepressant meds and be supervised until my regiment was established. Not the worst case scenario. They did that perfectly. I saw what other issues and personality types the staff had to deal with. They did an overall fantastic job. I highly recommend Roxbury Treatment Center for their caring staff and good food. There were a few hours a day of down time which was hard to take. I know they were busy but some organized activity available during those times would have given patients an alternative to being in their own heads and bored for those hours. Maybe I missed the point on that time and it was constructive for some. We were allowed five cigarette breaks a day, cigarettes provided. We were an adult unit and most were smokers including all detox patients. That was so nice to not have that taken away. The stress of cold turkey no smoking on top of everyone’s issues would have raised stress levels and tempers astronomically. Thank you for that Roxbury. My experience was super helpful in getting treatment for depression, anxiety and PTSD. I highly recommend Roxbury’s facility. Five stars if there were five to mark.

Review from Rehabs.com

I would NEVER EVER go back or recommend this\'d place to anyone. Staff did not have control over patients. Did not feel safe at all. Every single person I talked to said they hated this place and how backwards it was. I was admitted for 12 days and never once saw my assigned therapist. Some staff were very helpful but others were very rude. I hated being locked out of my room as well, even though I would be attending groups I had to have them unlock my door anytime I wanted to get anything out. The place was filthy. Not enough male staff members while out of control and disruptive patients. Group and duel therapy was a joke, Either no one talked or they only talked about narcotic use (not why i was there) and the main therapist was extremely rude to us as well. Only thing I liked about this place was the food was very good and they have activities for us to do. I saw four different doctors in 12 days while I was here, 5 including the MD.
