About Healing Wings
Healing Wings is a sober living home in South Africa that offers the structure and care needed for maintaining long-term sobriety. “St George’s Halfway House and reintegration home was founded in November 2016 by Jody and Bronwyn Van Jaarsveldt. A couple with ten and eleven years of sobriety respectively, they founded the home to help and guide people who have completed their time at a Primary Rehab centre and now find themselves at the most vulnerable stage on the road to a Sober-Living lifestyle. The couple, themselves counsellors with extensive first-hand knowledge and experience manage all aspects of the home’s reintegration program.”
Residents staying at Healing Wings will undergo an I.R.P. (individualized reintegration plan) assessment on arrival. The Healing Wings staff then tailors specific treatment plans according to the individual's unique needs and goals. Residents will then undergo 12-Step facilitation, along with individual counseling and group therapy once a week. Daily activities at the home include household chores, educational lessons with a variety of topics including forgiveness and codependency. Residents will also have the opportunity to engage in lectures, health and fitness, community projects, and volunteering with various charities. Unemployed residents will be encouraged to find employment with the help of the staff.
Healing Wings St. Georges is nestled in a quiet residential area of Johannesburg, South Africa. The up-scale home is designed with the residents' comfort in mind, including modern decor, comfortable furnishings, and a fully equipped kitchen. Meals are prepared by an in-house chef, and laundry service can be requested for an additional charge. Residents will also enjoy an on-site gym and large outdoor pool. Healing Wings has helped hundreds of individuals on the road to recovery.
