Let me start off by saying this: Just because your loved one didn’t get it this time around is not the fault of this facility. They do their damndest & the staff care about the patients. Wasn’t even going to leave a review but I’m just blown away by the inaccurate criticisms by family members of former Gosnold patients. Top notch food, accommodations are a bit dated but nothing awful. Beautiful locations. Tranquil atmosphere & smoke breaks are allowed. I don’t know what else y’all want from a place. The IOP program was amazing & I had great aftercare. It took three tries but now I’m at nearly 3 years sober & it is all because of this facility.

I found Gosnold to be an excellent detox facility. Excelent staff, nursing, councelors, dining etc...They do keep you busy with many group and small group meetings. Some one on one counceling, and help with aftercare. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Review from Rehabs.com

Gosnold started my journey into recovery and I finally realized that alcohol had owned me and going away to Cataumet facility was my best shot at getting my life back. The program showed me through meeting and education what effects alcoholism had on my brain, how I thought, acted, my behaviors and my destiny. Medical staff and counsellors were excellent Fine dining and the nutritionist reintroduced me to healthy meals daily. Bedrooms, restroom, common areas very well kept. This facility and the staff help me on get back on track in life. Program worked for me because I wanted to be sober and was willing to change my life I am a business professional attend AA meetings weekly, sponsor 5 men have completed the 12 Steps of AA with my sponsor and realize everyday if I don't have a drink then my life will not get out of control. Gosnold recovery program worked I have been sober for 5.5 years Other programs IOP, therapists, AA meetings prior to Gosnold never worked because I did not want to stop drinking. I have absolutely nothing negative to comment when I was told things that I did not want to hear yes I was angry but the staff was trying to change my thought process and identify I had to let go of my old ways. JDM successful recovery and proud Alumni of Gosnold Cataumet treatment facility Room 209

Review from Rehabs.com

Disappointed in the policy of lack of inclusion of family members and significant others in the treatment of the recovering addict. It would seem beneficial to promote family involvement in the recovery process, during inpatient, outpatient and individual treatment, as it would provide crucial feedback and a perspective from those living with and affected by the addict and therefore improve outcomes. Unfortunately the treatment team at Gosnold and individual Gosnold therapists deal exclusively with the addicted individual with no opportunity for household contact and family to provide any feedback or contribute in any way, potentially impeding the accountability and transparency of the addict and therefore the success of the recovery process. This seems like a very misguided philosophy fraught with opportunities for relapse and continued substance abuse.
