Near the Beltline Highway, Common Threads Clinic is a state-licensed center supporting people of all ages with autism, trauma, communication challenges, sensory needs, and behavioral or cognitive concerns through a coordinated care approach. Their program includes psychotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language services, and psychosocial supports delivered in structured, hands-on settings. They offer outpatient care designed to help clients gain skills, confidence, and steadiness in daily life.

Collaborative, Evidence-Driven Approach

Common Threads uses a collaborative approach that blends evidence-based therapies with engaging, strengths-focused experiences. Clients work with psychotherapists trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), internal family systems (IFS), play therapy, somatic work, and systemic therapy. Occupational therapists support motor, sensory, and executive functioning needs, while speech-language pathologists address communication, feeding, and AAC systems. This mix of targeted therapies helps clients build regulation, communication, and meaningful routines at a comfortable pace.

Expanded Support and Specialized Programs

Families find added support through psychosocial services and service facilitation offered in partnership with the Dane County CCS program. Clients receive guidance with service planning, recovery teams, skill development, and psychoeducation to help them move toward everyday stability. The clinic also supports deaf and hard of hearing people, gender-affirming voice work, and AAC access, creating a space where clients of any age can strengthen abilities, regain confidence, and feel understood.
